This bakery traineeship course is delivered over 24 weeks in the new state of the art BIA Innovator Campus training kitchen in Athenry. Trainees will cover a wide range of topics which will ensure that they will build a solid foundation for a career in the baking industry. The course is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the art of baking. You'll work side by side with experienced bakers in a real bakery, gaining valuable skills and practical knowledge.
The recent set of GRETB graduates from the course are testament to its success. The combination of the hands on learning at the BIA Innovator Centre coupled with the workplace training has provided them with the skills and confidence to succeed, with many learners progressing either into full time employment or to starting their own business.
On successful completion of the programme trainees will receive a Level 2 FDQ (Food & Drink Qualification, UK awarding body ) for proficiency in baking industry skills. This equates to a Level 4 qualification on the Irish QQI framework. From mastering the basics of breadmaking to creating intricate pastries, this comprehensive curriculum covers it all. You'll leave the course with a well-rounded skill set.
