Feature film seeks to include work from Galway artists in film

An independent feature film is seeking submissions from Galway artists to showcase their work as pieces created by a character in the film. Selected artworks will be filmed in and around Galway throughout September, and some commissions will be required.

Interested artists are encouraged to submit examples of their work. The film team is looking for a diverse range of art forms, including paintings such as portraits and abstract pieces, sketches like figurative and life drawings, and lifelike clay head sculptures.

They are also interested in 3D printing facilities and artworks, 3D installations using wire, papier-mâché, lanterns, and textiles, as well as 3D collages made from junk or scrap materials.

Other forms sought include magic eye and digital art, hand-painted children’s wall murals, and work in progress displayed in situ in a studio setting.

Speaking about the upcoming production, recent Galway Film Fleadh award winning producer of Kneecap Jack Tarling said, “With our film being based in Galway we'd love to celebrate the local artistic scene and involve the local community to create an authentic atmosphere on screen.”

To apply, artists should email their name, contact details, and links or images of their work to [email protected]. A team member will reach out to discuss the potential usage of the work.
