DUG Bridge Irish and American Traditions.

Transatlantic duo Lorkin O’Reilly and Jonny Pickett bring together Irish folk and American old-time music as part of their collaboration, DUG, on Friday, September 6th at Monroe’s Live.

This exciting project is the brainchild of songwriter Lorkin, originally from Dublin, and California native, Jonny.

Together, they create a fusion that reflects the heritage of both its members, treading the line between American and Irish traditions.

After spending the past decade in Upstate New York, releasing two albums, touring and gaining success on Spotify, Lorkin returned to Dublin in 2022 and teamed up with Jonny to form DUG in 2023.

The duo quickly made an impact, selling out two headline shows, featuring on Conan O'Brien's new HBO series ‘Conan Must Go,’ and performing for Virgin Media.

Their single, ‘Jubilee,’ captures the mix of Lorkin's Irish folk roots and Jonny's American old-time influences.

Inspired by the likes of Planxty, Paul Brady, The Deadlians and Karen Dalton among others, their songs merge the storytelling and melodic richness of Irish folk with the rhythmic drive and rustic charm of American old-time.

As they continue to gain momentum, DUG is set to become a major force in the folk music scene.

Discover the transatlantic sound of DUG on Friday, September 6, at Monroe’s Live. Doors open at 7:30pm and tickets cost €15.
