The 7th annual Racing for Rosabel, held at the Connacht Hotel in aid of Rosabel’s Rooms in partnership with the Irish Hospice Foundation, was yet again another outstanding success. The event was a glittering showcase of style and elegance, reminiscent of the glamour of Ballybrit’s Ladies Day.

Guests were welcomed with a delightful Aperol Spritz drinks reception and entertained by the talented Tony Cunningham. The anticipation was palpable as judges Grainne Seoige, Gillian Duggan, and Fiona Morgan Coleman had the challenging task of selecting the best-dressed attendees from the glamorous crowd, with €7,000 in prizes up for grabs.

Bronagh O’Brien from Galway was crowned Best Dressed Lady for her stunning yellow ensemble. Reflecting on her outfit, she shared, “I started with the bag while I was on holidays. I loved the lemons, so the outfit evolved from there.” She dazzled in a two-piece from Marian Murphy Cooney, complemented by a beautiful headpiece by Caitriona King.

The award for Best Headpiece went to Mari Santiago, whose striking red and black creation stole the show. Overwhelmed by her win, she expressed her joy and gratitude to the judges and sponsors.

The Best Dressed Gent award was bestowed upon Jim Corr, who cut a dapper figure in his meticulously coordinated outfit. Humble in his victory, Jim credited his partner Caroline McElroy for his stylish look, saying, “She put the whole outfit together, and the sunglasses were the perfect finishing touch. I owe this win to her.”

Sponsors Canella Lane, Belissimo Galway, Restore Aesthetics Clinic, Eyre Square Shopping Centre, Hartmann’s Jewellers, The Connacht Hotel Hospitality Group, and VIP Arrivals were all delighted to support the event and celebrate with the winners. The day concluded with a captivating performance by The Raines, marking a perfect start to the race week.

The Racing for Rosabel event continues to be a highlight of the social calendar, raising essential funds for Rosabel’s Rooms and the Irish Hospice Foundation, while celebrating the spirit and community of Galway.

Rosabel’s Rooms is a project in partnership with the Irish Hospice Foundation, dedicated to providing support and accommodation to families experiencing the loss of a child offering financial and therapeutic support.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when Suzanne McClean, the founder of Rosabel’s Rooms and Rosabel’s mum, spoke about her beautiful daughter and the charity. Her heartfelt words deeply moved everyone present, highlighting the significant impact of Rosabel’s Rooms in supporting families during their most difficult times.
