Galway University Hospitals and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland have this week welcomed progress at the new build Cystic Fibrosis Unit at Merlin Park.

This project will create an outpatient department including ambulatory care for Cystic Fibrosis patients.

It will also provide a dedicated area for the multidisciplinary care team to deliver safe, patient focussed care with integral consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic resources.

The development includes a single storey building opposite Unit 8 in Merlin Park University Hospital.

It will provide single consultation rooms and multidisciplinary team areas.

Construction of the unit began in September 2023, and the estimated €3.7 million development is scheduled to open in October.
