Tir na nOg Clinic is a family run clinic specialising in hair transplant surgery, led by Dr Kevin McDonald. A dedicated surgeon from Baldoyle, Dublin, Dr Kevin completed his medical education at the University of Galway in 1999, initially specialising in cardiothoracic surgery.
While studying in Galway, Dr Kevin met his wife Natasha. After graduation, the couple moved to the UK, where they spent five years, got married, and started their family. In 2005, they returned to Ireland, where Dr Kevin practised at prestigious hospitals including the Mater Private and Blackrock Clinic.
By 2014, Dr Kevin's interest shifted to hair transplant surgery. He underwent extensive training and, in 2015, left Blackrock Clinic to establish Tir na nOg Clinic with Natasha’s support. The clinic quickly flourished, moving to a bespoke location in 2016.
Dr Kevin's transition from major surgery to hair transplant surgery was driven by several factors: the reduced demand for cardiac surgery due to stents, the increasing popularity of hair transplants, and a desire for a better work-life balance for his young family. More importantly, he was motivated by empathy, wanting to help those struggling with hair loss regain their confidence.
