Americans in Galway.Org is joining forces with Paul Fallon of Irish Running tours to celebrate this fourth of July with the first annual Independence Day at the bay 5K.
There will be a scenic five kilometre run for adults and a one kilometre childrens run along the Salthill promenade with people of all abilities being invited to join the race. The run will be followed by an American-style barbecue at the Galway Bay Hotel. All proceeds will go directly to the Irish Heart Association.
The race will start at 6pm from the Salthill amusement park, and finish beside the aquarium. Entry is €25 for adults and €5 for children
A post race Independence Day party will be held at 7pm in the Galway Bay Hotel. Participants are asked to dress-up as their favourite American and join in the fourth of July day celebrations. For more information on the event contact [email protected]
