O’Donnellan and Joyce, A leading expert both locally and nationally for selling properties by auction, reported an excellent day for both buyers and sellers alike.

Properties throughout Ireland, from Galway to Donegal to Offaly and along with a property in Dublin, all went under the auction hammer attracting not only local but also national and international interest.

The live stream auction was conducted in the office of O’Donnellan and Joyce, which was transformed into a large auction studio by Brandt International where the auction is conducted live by Ireland’s leading auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan and streamed internationally where people can bid either over the phone or online while also watching the auction live from the comfort of their own home.

Lot 1 – 28 Carragh Hill, Knocknacarra, Galway

Lot 1 of the day was a four bedroom detached residence. This spacious residence is in a prime location but does require some modernising and upgrading throughout. However, this did not put off prospective buyers and after intense bidding among three bidders the lot sold for €560,000, a huge €85,000 over its reserve price of €475,000.

Lot 2 – Menlo, Galway

This four bedroom detached residence is situated just 10 minutes' drive from Eyre Square. Although it needs modernisation it offers huge potential as an ideal family home. This property garnered much interest with five bidders going head-to-head, it was swiped off the market for €410,000.

Lot 3 – Lands at Clonmore, Mullingar

The lands at Clonmore proved to be the highlight of the auction. The lands are situated on the outskirts of Mullingar town and neighbours a number of well-known and established industrial business parks. This land did not go without a fight, with two bidders going head to head leaving the winning bidder taking it off the market for a huge €1,350,000 which was a staggering €700,000 above the reserve price.

Lot 4 – Sox, Dromahair, Co Leitrim

Lot 4 was a two-storey partially constructed detached residence in a rural setting on a large, secluded, elevated site. This was a great opportunity create a family home to your own taste and design. After intense bidding from three bidders, it was sold for €100,000.

Lot 5 – Lands at Ballybrittan, Edenderry, Co Offaly

Circa 0.7 acre located in a rural setting approximately 8km from Edenderry town. The winning bidder took this land off the market for €20,000.

Lot 6 – Duniry, Reaghan, Tynagh, Co Galway

Situated in a private scenic site this charming three bed property is the perfect renovation project. Located 2.9km from Duniry village. The winning bidder swiped it from under the hammer for €142,000.

Lot 7 – 10 Lough Fern Heights, Milford, Co Donegal

No 10 Lough Fern Heights is a spacious three bedroom semidetached residence overlooking a large green area on an elevated site. While in need of upgrading throughout, it was sold at auction for €105,000, exceeding its reserve price of €60,000.

Lot 8 – Laragh House, Bunnasillagh, Caherlistrane

This four bed detached residence is in a rural setting, standing on a large site of 0.6 acre and located within easy commuting distance of Galway city. This property went under the hammer and was sold for €190,000.

This was the fourth of seven auctions of 2024 and Colm O’Donnellan said the team were delighted with the brilliant results and the number of properties that they obtained throughout Ireland to sell by auction.
