On what turned out to be a sunny Saturday afternoon, supporters of Galway Autism Partnership (GAP ) gathered at Tigh Ronain in Laurel Park for the official opening of the GAP Gardens, the Suimhneas Sensory Garden Space, and the recently renovated back garden play and socialising area.

Galway Autism Partnership is a local charity which provides supports and services, including camps and clubs for all ages in Galway. The two separate and equally significant projects of the sensory garden and back garden space have been ongoing for the last while at GAP, which has limited outdoor access. They are delighted to open their backdoors to these amazing new additions to Tigh Ronain, just in time for a busy, fun, and energetic summer of camps, clubs, and activities at GAP House.

Galway Hurler, Conor Whelan, joined us on the day, doing the honours of cutting the two gold ribbons on the garden spaces. The completion of work on the gardens will provide space for play, socialising, relaxation, and so much more for all who visit GAP House.

This project was one of hard work, passion, and commitment from the beginning and from all involved. There are too many people to thank for their involvement in getting GAP ready for last Saturday, and they are so pleased with the outcome and thank you from the bottom of their hearts.

They would also like to give a huge thanks from everyone at GAP to all the wonderful people who organised and got involved with fundraising initiatives to raise money to cover the cost of the project. Maith Sibh, ár mbuíochas libh ar fad.
