Join organisers and performers for what is set to be an unforgettable weekend held by the shores of Galway Bay from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28.
The South Galway Bay Music Festival is set to return for its third year, promising three nights of music and dance. Hosted by the Ballinderreen GAA Club, the festival will feature a fantastic line-up suitable for all ages.
The festival's roots can be traced back to the 1950s and 60s, when Ballinderreen was a popular stop for touring show bands. Reviving this tradition, the inaugural 2022 festival was a resounding success, followed by an even more vibrant 2023 event despite challenging weather conditions.
Festival organizer Mattie Larkin commented, “The South Galway Bay Music Festival is fast becoming one of the highlights of the summer calendar in Galway. The 2023 festival was a testament to the resilience and enthusiasm of our attendees and performers, and 2024 promises to be even bigger and better.”
Event Highlights
Prepared for all weather, the 2024 South Galway Bay Music Festival will feature covered outdoor wooden dance floors and bars, as well as a fully licensed bar, a festival bus for the night of Friday, June 26 which will run from Oranmore, Gort and Kinvara (seats must be booked in advance ).
The 2024 event will feature performances from The Whistlin’ Donkeys, Johnny Brady, Derek Ryan, Olivia Douglas, Clodagh Lawlor, Gavin Gribben, and Jack Keogh. All in aid of a good cause, the South Galway Bay Music Festival is driven by energetic volunteers from Ballinderreen GAA, with the festival's proceeds supporting the development of a new multipurpose gym facility.
Tickets and information
Tickets for the festival are priced at: adults (18+ ) - €25-€30 per night or €65 for a weekend pass, youth tickets (13 - 17 ) - €30 Friday night, €15 Saturday / Sunday night. Children aged 12 and under: free, with a supervising adult (maximum of four children per adult ).
