Have your say in the new six-year plan to support economic and community development of the Galway County.
Galway County Council is inviting the public to participate in a consultation process for the development of the Galway County Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP ) 2024 - 2030. Under the guidance of the Local Government Reform Act 2014, the Galway County LECP is a six-year plan that aims to promote sustainable economic and community development across Galway County.
To ensure that the plan reflects the needs and aspirations of the community, members of the public are encouraged to share their views and vision for the County through various channels, both online and in-person. This consultation period provides a valuable opportunity for individuals, businesses, and community organisations to contribute to the development of the plan and have their say on the future of Galway.
Consultation portal and public consultation
An online consultation portal (www.galwaycountylecp.com ) is now live. Visitors can access the draft Socio-Economic Statement and High-Level Goals document, participate in surveys, and stay informed about the planning process and its goals.
There will be a series of in-person consultation events in five Libraries across each of the Municipal Districts of Galway County. These are interactive events providing a variety of ways for you to share your experience and priorities for the Galway County. These workshops are drop in, meaning come when you can and stay as long as you’d like. Come have your say at the following events:
Loughrea Library: June 19, 5-7pm
Athenry Library: June 20, 5-7pm
Ballinasloe Library: June 25, 5-7pm
Headford Library: June 26, 4-6pm
Oughterard Library: June 27, (Time TBC )
These workshops will be accompanied by on-street pop-up consultation events in Towns and Villages across Galway County.
