David Mackey, founder and CTO, and Ruth Mackey, founder, CSO and COO of Galway-based Mbryonics have returned from the EY Entrepreneur of the Year™ CEO Retreat in Cape Town South Africa.
When asked about their experience, Dave said the EOY retreat to South Africa feels like a fever dream of experiences amongst some of Ireland's most influential entrepreneurs.
"We had the privilege to be exposed to some of the protagonists and authors of South Africa’s first chapter of democracy such as Francois Pienaar, Zelda La Grange and Judge Albie Sachs just as South Africa moves into a new political chapter with the ANC's losing majority for the first time.
"We also visited townships meeting local entrepreneurs that are thriving and overcoming the many challenges in South Africa. A unique experience only made possible thanks to the amazing EOY team and the network they have created. "
Ruth Mackey said that the EOY CEO retreat to Cape Town was a unique experience made all the more special by the people they had the privilege to meet and share the trip with.
"It was action packed, from meeting local business and sporting superstars, to meeting some of the key people who have shaped and were part of South Africa's modern day history, all with the backdrop of the African landscape and the upcoming local elections to add to the significance.
