The Galway International Arts Festival will be hit by an American rhyme spree on Wednesday, July 17, when the Fun Lovin’ Criminals hit Monroe’s Live.
Emerging from the vibrant New York music scene of the mid-90s, the Fun Lovin' Criminals carved a niche with their unique blend of hip-hop, rock n’roll, blues, jazz and Latin-soul.
They burst onto the scene with their worldwide multi-platinum debut album Come Find Yourself in 1996, featuring the single ‘Scooby Snacks’ which catapulted them to fame. Their witty, humorous lyrics, hip hop beats, bluesy guitar riffs and smooth, laid-back vocals quickly earned them a dedicated fan base.
Featuring the current line-up of Brian ‘Fast’ Leiser, Frank Benbini and Naim Cortazzi, their tunes move effortlessly from funky, upbeat anthems to gritty hard edge rock and funky soul. In 2023, they celebrated 25 years since the release of their album 100% Columbian, with cinematic, eclectic style that is a formidable part of their music.
