Fianna Fáil Councillor Alan Cheevers has welcomed news that DRA Community Development Company will shortly submit plans for a new development on lands they purchased fronting on to Doughiska Park.
The plan will consist of a new Pre School a full size multi sport all weather facility and community rooms.
Cllr Cheevers says this is a significant development for the area and caters for the large multicultural community in the area.
“There is a ongoing increase in population in area and these facilities have been lacking the all weather multi sports facilities especially. These will be welcome especially with both Merlin College and Merlin Primary Schools adjoining Doughiska Park and also the many sports clubs in the area.
“If elected on June 7 I will work with the DRA Community Development Company to see the project developed and delivered for the area,” he said.
