Established in 2002, Dominic O’Connor Ltd has earned a solid reputation for providing specialist, commercial and industrial mechanical engineering services to the building industry.
Over the years the company has worked on many prestigious projects not only in Galway but nationwide. Some recent projects completed in Galway include, NUIG Student Accommodation and Bonham Quay.
Most recently the company have become very involved in the energy retrofitting of public buildings for the department of education and HSE. This is seen as an extremely important part of th ecompany moving forward as part of the Government's targets of a 51 per cent reduction in greenhouse emissions in 2030, and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. One of these projects was shortlisted for an award at the Irish Building & Design words recently.
In recent years the company has grown from strength to strength with an ever-increasing workload nationwide and is providing significant local employment to Loughrea and its surround environs with the workforce growing by almost 100 per cent in the last number of years.
As a result of this recent growth in workload and workforce, recently the company was pleased to announce the internal appointment of five new directors, bolstering the senior leadership team.
The following staff members were promoted to director-level positions within the company: Mike Martyn as Operations Director, Tony O'Dowd as Contracts Director, Keith O'Connor as Estimating Director, Frank Beechinor as Pre-Construction Director, and David Twomey as Commercial Director.
These promotions are anticipated to elevate the professionalism, dedication, and leadership capabilities of our senior leadership team, facilitating the successful delivery of the numerous projects in the company's 2024 workload pipeline. Furthermore, they will contribute to the ongoing expansion of our client base and the pursuit of new, exciting projects in the future.
