Harris Maxus used last week's Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham to launch two new electric vehicles from Chinese manufacturer SAIC, the electric Maxus eDeliver 5 van, and Maxus MIFA 7 MPV.
The MIFA 7 is the smaller version of the MIFA 9 which was launched in 2022. This new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV ) comes with the choice of a 90kWh battery offering a range of up to 480km (WLTP combined ), or a 77kWh battery offering 410km (WLTP combined ) on a single charge.
With a body size of 4,907 x 1,885mm by 1,756mm (excluding luggage rack ), the seven-seater is claimed to boast the best internal width ratio in its class. This provides passengers with significant space for outstanding levels of comfort.
Other key details of the MIFA 7 revealed at the show were: it has a 180kW motor with a maximum torque of 350Nm; comes with 18 inch wind resistant alloy wheels, designed to improve range; boasts electric sliding doors and hidden door handle design for sleek modern look; and has a large panoramic sunroof.
Elsewhere, the MIFA 7 comes with wireless charging in the cockpit, plus four type-C and four USB charging ports for passengers.
Driving safety systems include: Intelligent driving cameras and radars on the vehicle providing adaptive cruise control, integrated cruise assist, automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning. It also has lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, speed limit information function and intelligent high-low beam control.
Maxus eDeliver 5
Meanwhile, the newest addition to the Maxus light commercial vehicle range is the eDeliver 5.
This new fully-electric van has 64kWh battery pack offering a range of up to 335km (WLTP combined ) or 489km (Urban / City range ).
It has a payload of up to 1,200kg and comes with a double sliding door, rear double opening with 180 degree hinge and binding rings.
Its dimensions are: 4800 x 1874 x 1960mm (body ) and 2654 x 704 x 1455mm (cargo ).
Adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keep assistance, 360 degree surrounding camera and rear sensor & speed limit ID system, all come as standard.
Irish pricing for both of these new Maxus models will be announced soon.
First deliveries are expected this August.
