Firearm discharged in Ballybane

Gardaí in Galway are appealing for witnesses following the discharge of a firearm at a residential property in Castlepark, Ballybane on Wednesday, May 1 at approximately 11pm.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them. In particular, anyone who may have observed a dark coloured vehicle in the area.

Anyone who was the area of Castlepark between 10pm and 11pm on May 1 and who may have mobile phone or dash cam footage, is asked to make this available to Gardaí on 091-538 000, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Tools stolen from shed in Ardrahan

Gardaí in Gort are appealing for information following a burglary at a farm in Lydacan Ardrahan where a quantity of tools were stolen from a shed between 1am on Thursday, May 2 and 4pm on Saturday, May 4.

During the course of the burglary, a De Walt SDS drill, a cordless angle grinder, a Husqvarna Chainsaw and an Impact Driver were stolen.

Home broken into in Athenry

Gardaí in Athenry are appealing for witnesses following a report of a burglary at a residence in Kiltullagh, Athenry on Friday, May 3 between 3pm and 10pm.

The culprit, or culprits, entered the property via a rear patio door. Nothing was taken during the course of the burglary.

Gardaí in Athenry are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have observed suspicious vehicles in the area around this time.

Van damaged by a fire in Rahoon

Gardai in Salthill are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire where a Ford Transit was set alight outside a house at Claremont Park, Rahoon which occurred on Tuesday, April 30 at approximately 10:15pm.

The van was extensively damaged and the Galway Fire and Rescue was required to extinguish the fire. A male wearing a black hoodie was observed in the vicinity at the time of the fire.

Caravan stolen in Salthill

Gardaí in Salthill are investigating the theft of a silver motor caravan from outside a private residence at Slí Na Craoibhe. The theft occurred between 7pm on May 1 and 6am on May 2.

Theft of a tractor in Kinvara

Gardaí in Galway are investigating the theft of a John Deere tractor from Coonara, Moy Road, Kinvara which occurred between 8:30pm on Friday, May 3 and 5pm on Saturday, May 4.

Fuel stolen in Ardrahan

Gardaí in Ardrahan are investigating the theft of a large amount fuel from a building site at Caislean Na Raithlin that occurred between 5pm on Tuesday, April 30 and 9am on May 1.

Traffic restrictions

Gardaí wish to advise motorist that Galway Utd play Sligo on Friday, May 10 at Eamon Deacy Park and the match kicks off at 7:45pm.

There is a large crowd expected at this match and Gardaí wish to advise anyone travelling in the area to plan ahead. There will be parking restrictions close to the stadium.
