The National Breast Cancer Research Institute are asking Galway girls to join their team for this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon on Sunday, June 2.

The National Breast Cancer Research Institute is a national charity that funds a comprehensive research programme at the University of Galway. Breast cancer research has improved the diagnosis, treatment options and outcomes for those who develop the disease and the charity want to fund these research programmes to continue to impact the outcomes for those who develop breast cancer in the future.

Currently, one in seven Irish women will be diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 75 and there are 3,507 cases diagnosed annually which is set to continue to increase.

If you can Run, Jog, Walk or Stroll for the charity every step you take can help make a difference. Register at www.vhiwomensminimarathon.ie then choose the National Breast Cancer Research Institute as your charity of choice. Once you have registered, contact the charity’s team leader, Síona for assistance with fundraising and to receive your team T-shirt and fundraising pack.
