The 50 Plus Show, the lifestyle event for people 50 and over is coming to the Salthill Hotel on the 21st & 22nd May. The event is organised by SeniorTimes magazine and podcast series

There will be over 50 exhibits, displays and demonstrations covering, health, hobbies and pastimes, rights and entitlements, volunteering, a recruitment section, personal finance, internet tuition, food, fashion, coin and stamp collecting and home and abroad holidays.

Always popular will be the cooking demonstrations with three each day and a painting, jewellery making and crocheting workshop where participants can create and take home their work.

Free Digital Advice/Volunteering/Recruitment

Once again they will have a ‘Hi Digital’ area where people can get advice from experts on getting online and assisting people with their hobbies and travel, online banking, entertainment and shopping or just connecting with friends and family online. And for anybody looking to get back into employment, whether part or full time they have a ‘Jobs Wall’ where qualified Employer Relations Officers from the Dept of Social protection will be promoting vacancies both full and part time for the over 50s along with training courses available for people to upskill. A number of companies/bodies will also be exhibiting looking for people to volunteer.

Celebrity Guest Appearances

Former RTE presenter Micheal Lyster will be appearing and interviewing some well known personalities including singing legend Sandy Kelly on May 22.

The 50 Plus Show is taking place in the Salthill Hotel and is open from 10.am to 4pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday May 21-22.
