County Clare musicians Dora Gola and Dan Astro will bring their Grand Stretch tour to Monroe’s Live on Saturday, April 13, at 7pm for an evening of electronic mastery.

The tribal rhythms of Gola’s world music, combined with her powerful performance style, is gaining her recognition as one of Ireland’s most exciting new talents. The Lahinch-based, Polish born singer-songwriter, has found her niche merging the Irish folk tradition with other cultures.

Inspired by strong African beats and dramatic electro-pop, Gola embraces the spirit of the eclectic, with a nod to '90s African dance, Peruvian folk and ‘80s pop.

She is joined by producer, DJ and musician, Dan Astro who has a passion for both acoustic and electronic sounds.

Co-founder of Backroads Records and monthly resident on Dublin Digital Radio, Astro blends groovy beats, deep bass and light melodies. His hits 'Breathe Again' and ‘Lost Years’ gained national airplay, while his headline gig at the Doolin Hedge School Festival brought an exciting mix of electronic music with guitar, fiddle and vocals.

Support is from Dan Astro’s fellow collaborator Aoibheann Boyle; a County Wicklow native who often says her heart is in Clare. It is in the west where she found her voice as a singer-songwriter. Aoibheann has a myriad of influences, from rocksteady, roots and ska to folk, punk, rock and blues.

Tickets cost €18 and are available from www.monroes.ie
