Industry giants headlining Galway gaming summit

Ardán will host the FÍS Games Summit 2024 at Galway’s Portershed a Dó, Market Street on Friday, April 5.

Headline speakers at this year’s event include Mark Brown, Gregorios Kythreotis, and Chella Ramanan. The goal of the summit is to help foster growth and success in the Irish computer games development community by providing creators across Ireland with opportunities to engage with career-building talks and presentations.

Registration begins at 9.30am before Mayor of Galway Eddie Hoare opens the event at 10 am. Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation, Dara Calleary will give the closing speech.

Mark Brown is a design consultant and creator of the YouTube series Game Maker’s Toolkit. He will present on “The Positive Power of Game Jams”.

As the creative director of Shedwork’s open-world video game Sable, Gregorios Kythreotis will present on “The Art of 'Sable': Imperfection, Limitation, and Worldbuilding through Visual Design”.

Chella Ramanan is a writer, narrative designer and co-founder of 3-Fold Games. Ramanan will present “Making Games for Real”.

FÍS Games Summit 2024 is supported by Screen Ireland, Gréasán na Meán Skillnet, IMIRT, WRAP, Creative Europe Media Desk Ireland, ATU Galway City, and Northern Ireland Screen.
