Next month sees publication of the 60th edition of Crannóg, Galway’s international literary magazine, and the milestone will be marked by launching a new prize for writers.
To celebrate its anniversary, the biannual Crannóg magazine will award a bursary of €1,500 to one published contributor in each biannual issue.
The name of the inaugural bursary recipient will be announced at the launch of Crannóg’s 60th edition on Friday, April 5, at The Crane Bar, on Sea Road. The bursary is generously sponsored by writer Marian Kilcoyne. All welcome.
Crannóg is published each spring and September, with an issue featuring ten short stories, 35 poems, plus an interview with an author on their writing life. Crannóg also runs the long-established Galway Writers’ Workshop.
Crannóg is produced co-editors Tony O’Dwyer, Ger Burke, J arlath Fahy and Canada-based Sandra Bunting. Sandra sources the now iconic images for each cover of Crannóg.
The magazine is generously financially supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and by Galway City Council’s Arts Office. It costs only €8 for 100 pages of quality literature.
