A new cyber mindset programme to help educate and empower students, parents and teachers when it comes to the use of social media and smart devices, saw Galway cyber security experts Noone Cyber Services recognised at the National Digital Business Awards.

The Think Smart programme was selected as the Digital Impact of the Year at the prestigious awards.

CEO Aoife Noone, who devised the programme, has over 20 years of information security and compliance experience, working across various industries within diverse roles, wearing many hats helping to both solve and prevent thousands of system access challenges.

She has designed and run various system access programmes from access design to remediation projects. Noone Cyber Services uses expertise and knowledge from proven solutions to solve problems fast and save huge operational costs in the process.

“Research now shows that there is a clear link between the rise of mental health challenges and the serious issues arising from the misuse of social media and smart technology,” she said.

“From talking to friends, teachers and parents I became aware of the huge problems and risks to our youth within this area and the real struggle to prevent them.

In January 2023, Aoife piloted and established Think Smart a new cyber mindset programme with secondary and primary school students, and parents/guardians.

Think Smart is a programme of workshops and talks to help educate and empower students, parents and teachers when it comes to the use of social media and smart devices.

By merging cyber security expertise with high-performance mindset skills, this programme provides participants with life-long tools to ensure more positive online attitudes and behaviours.

Having worked so well with scools and parents, the programme was named the Digital Impact of the Year award winner at the awards ceremony.
