This Sunday, a 5k charity run will take place in aid of Eanna’s Entourage at Furbo GAA pitch, commencing at 11am.
Entry fee is €20 for adults and €10 for children and all funds raised by Eanna’s Entourage will go to the Oscar’s Kids Foundation.
Organisers Emear and Simon of Eanna’s Entourage said they were moved to hold the fundraiser because of the fantastic support they received from Oscar’s Kids when their son, Eanna fell ill two years ago.
“In June 2022 our son, Éanna, was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Treatment began immediately but after a year’s brave and courageous battle our beautiful boy gained his Angel Wings in June 2023,” they told the Advertiser.
“Éanna was the most joyful little man that had the most infectious smile. He touched so many hearts and had the biggest fan club in both Galway and Crumlin Hospitals.
“He was a special boy that just spread happiness and was so caring of others. Throughout the year we were amazed by the charities available but of course they need support,” they added.
“In a way to honour Éanna and make him proud we have set up Éanna’s Entourage to raise money for the Irish charities that help the families going through this horrendous journey."
Each year they will focus on one charity and all events will go towards that one in particular. This year Eanna’s Entourage are fundraising for Oscar’s Kids Ireland which create magic and the most precious memories to a child in palliative care from cancer treatment.
“We were so lucky to be a club member and had amazing things happen in Éanna’s last weeks. This coming weekend we are holding a 5k, but follow us on Facebook and Instagram ‘Éanna’s Entourage’ and join us help raise vital funds though events like Hell and Back, Golf scramble, Skydives and a Summer Ball,” they concluded.
