Galway Community Circus has been selected for the Fundraising Fellowship Ireland Project.

This scheme, under the aegis of Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, will allocate resources toward the employment of a fundraising professional who will take part in a two-year training programme to build fundraising capacity and diversify revenue streams.

This Fundraising Fellow will participate in a structured training and mentorship programme in 2024-2026 developed by Business to Arts. The aim is to equip the recruited fellows and their organisations with skills and supports to build fundraising and development capacity.

Galway Community Circus will commence the public recruitment of their Fundraising Fellow next month, with the training and development programme commencing in early summer.

“This programme comes at a pivotal moment for Galway Community Circus as we continue to scale up our operations across multiple venues, increase our impact, and work towards our vision of making circus education accessible to every child in Ireland,” said circus director Lynn Carroll.

The Circus project in Shantalla was allocated a €1,000 grant from Galway City Council in December as part of councillors’ 2024 budget adjustments.
