With a heady mix of rock, blues and Americana, one of Galway’s favourite fun-loving bands, the Opacas will perform on Friday, March 15, at 8pm at Monroe’s backstage venue.
Their melodic, harmony driven, power pop has endeared them to the local community, as musicians Steve Talbot, Peter Tobin, Pat Boyle and Mark Raynor forge a new path for original music.
This quartet delves into a range of themes, navigating from comedic to chaotic, using their life stories to explore challenges and celebrations through song.
The Opacas actively embrace the local artistic community, partnering with fellow creatives to develop humorous, story-based videos. They are firmly rooted in the local music scene, thanks to collaborations with amateur theatre groups across the city and county.
Born out of lockdown, The Opacas began with a mission to entertain.
They will be joined on the night by Galway-based trio KaRoSal, featuring K ara Donohoe, Róna O’Riordan and Sarah Toomey, who will perform songs from their debut album ‘Songs In 3-Part Harmony’.
