Tribal Running is back with the EASTER LILY 5KM REMEMBERING AOIBHE on Easter Sunday morning March 31.
It’s a 5K road race and kids track races and starts at 10.30am in Doughiska, Galway City East with the race HQ and finish in Doughiska Park for changing facilities, toilets, numbers pick up etc.
The 5km is off at the top of Doughiska road, Dunnes Briarhill side, so please allow time to walk up to the start line.The entry fee for the 5km is €15, the kids race is €5 and a family entry of two adults and two kids is €30. There will be lots of post race treats with fresh fruit, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. The second edition of this race will be supporting ACT for Meningitis this year .
This year also they have the 5km for 16yrs+ and two kids track races on the Doughiska grass track, just after the 5k finishes. One race for 4 to 8yrs and one race for 9 to 15yrs.
Speaking at the launch Sean Mc Dermot from Tribal Running said they are delighted to support local charity ACT FOR MENINGITIS with the events profits.
“At Tribal Running we are happy to help others, whether it’s with our free adults training sessions or if we can put on a charity race and raise funds for a deserving charity. Having known Siobhan for many years, it’s great to be in a position to raise funds to support the great work the charity does on a national level”
ACT for Meningitis is a national support and awareness charity who are working to save lives through greater disease awareness, while providing free support services to anyone in the country who has been affected by meningitis.
Set up in 2011 by Siobhan and Noel Carroll following the loss of their daughter Aoibhe, aged 4 to meningitis, ACT for Meningitis have seen firsthand the importance of meningitis awareness.
ACT for Meningitis believe that no-one should ever have to face the meningitis journey alone and to ensure this they have free support services meaning that if you have been affected by meningitis, either through bereavement or living with the severe after affects of the disease, ACT are here to support you and your family,for as long as you need”
