Healthy recipes, sleep tips and the link between gut and brain health were all on the menu at a recent event at the g Hotel in Galway. Following on from the success of ‘The Gut Instinct’ in Cork last October, the latest edition of the roadshow saw TV Chef Eunice Power once again demonstrate how to make gut-friendly meals on the go.

The event sponsored by PrecisionBiotics took place on St Brigid’s day, and all proceeds from ticket sales were donated to the charity Women’s Aid.

The demo explored the various ways in which to cook healthy foods that taste great and still take care of your gut, with recipes catering for busy but nutrition-conscious people. Eunice demonstrated how to make Kefir overnight oats and chia seed granola; chia granola, broccoli, pea, spinach, miso and ginger superfood soup; chicken, wild mushrooms, pumpkin, rice and quinoa; and delicious gingernut biscuits.

Audiences at the g Hotel were also given insights into the secrets of a good night’s sleep with Sleep Expert and Mayo native Tom Coleman, while PrecisionBiotics scientist Claire Watkins gave a fascinating talk on the meaning behind expressions such as 'listen to your gut'. Attendees were treated to goodie bags to take home, containing PrecisionBiotics products Alflorex and Zenflore - over the counter supplements recommended by pharmacists.

Shirley O’Regan, Marketing Manager at PrecisionBiotics, said: “It was great to take to the stage again with ‘The Gut Instinct’ and to meet a really engaged Galway audience at the g Hotel, who were keen to learn about the links between gut and brain health, which is at the heart of the work our brilliant scientists do every day. We were also thrilled to once again team up with Sleep Expert Tom Coleman, and the talented Eunice Power as she whipped up some magic on stage, with meals aimed at maintaining good gut health. We look forward to the next instalment of ‘The Gut Instinct’ later this year.”
