With their single ‘Fairytale’ reaching the coveted Number 1 slot on iTunes' chart, folk musicians Ger O’Donnell and Trevor Sexton have had a meteoric start to 2024.

Now, they are bringing their compelling acoustic sound to Monroe’s Live on Saturday, February 24, at 7:30pm for a fully seated show.

Featuring Sharon Shannon and Niall Murphy, the success of their track ‘Fairytale’ is testament to the duo’s collaborative style.

Their keen understanding of multiple instruments, combined with soulful lyrics, delicate harmonies and a peppering of humour has endeared them to fans.

Firmly rooted in the folk genre, they bridge the gap between audience and performer, evoking a sense of nostalgia through storytelling and song.

Following the success of their album, The Alchemist’s Stone, the pair are back at Monroe’s Live for an intimate showcase of their work.

Drawing inspiration from influences like Bob Dylan, Bob Marley and Pete Seeger, Sexton crafts intentional songs that serve as a platform for his life experiences.

His remarkable talent has captivated audiences at prestigious venues such as the Cork Opera House, Vicar Street, and the UL Concert Hall.

Music educator, arranger, and composer O’Donnell has earned a devoted following over the years.

Having journeyed from classical flute and fife to rock and strings, he achieved Number 1s in the Irish charts with his singles ‘Turquoise Ink’ and ‘Talk about the Heroes'.

This folk duo will be joined by special guest Robert John Ardiff, at Monroe’s on Saturday, February 24.
