The Byrne Hotel Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Yates as General Manager of the four-star Salthill Hotel.
Mr Yates is a graduate of Technology University of The Shannon, Athlone Campus.
With extensive and valuable experience in Hotel Management, Mr Yates brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and to the property.
Prior to joining The Salthill Hotel, he spent five years as General Manager of The Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone, during his time there Michael positioned the hotel as the north west’s leading 4-star hotel.
During his career he has trained in prestigious 5-star properties such as Hotel Europe in Killarney and Hotel Weisses Rössl Kitzbühel, Austria and closer to home hel was Deputy General Manager of Breaffy House Resort in Castlebar.
Mr Yates will be able to draw on his time spent as chair of Irish Hotel Federation Sligo Branch and also as member of the board for Failte Irelands recovery taskforce during covid.
During this difficult period of covid for the industry, he completed a programme in Strategic Leadership, Resilience and Innovation with the prestigious Cornell University which will no doubt be very important for many years to come.
