Ford has revealed an upgraded version of its very popular Kuga SUV, which boasts enhanced hybrid powertrains and the latest generation infotainment and driver assistance technology.

According to the brand, the Kuga Plug-In Hybrid and Kuga Hybrid AWD deliver significantly improved acceleration and towing ability of up to 2,100 kg with the reduced emissions of an electrified powertrain.

The new Kuga range is also said by Ford to offer up to 69 kilometres of pure electric driving.

Elsewhere, the new Kuga features an evolved design inside and out, with the smart 'Titanium', sporty 'ST-Line' and new 'Active' series boasting unique design features.

Latest-generation technology includes a 13.2-inch landscape touchscreen and SYNC 4 infotainment system with 5G connectivity and cloud-connected navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Alexa Built-in as standard for seamless access to information and apps.

A new generation of adaptive cruise control can now apply the brakes automatically for curves and junctions as well as other traffic, while the 360-degree camera system offers an aerial view for stress-free parking, hitching a trailer or using an automatic car wash.

Pricing for the new Kuga range will be announced closer to launch date.
