Short Courses at University of Galway 2024

Have you one evening free per week? Are you interested in pursuing an area of study for your own personal motivation and development? The Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development at the University of Galway launched its Short Courses Series 2024. Commencing the week of February 12th, courses are eight-weeks in duration (online or classroom-based ) and cost €145 each.

If you are passionate about Sustainability and would like to learn more about the practical application of Renewable Energy Technologies in the home or explore the Earth’s Climate and the Greenhouse Effect, then look no further! Perhaps you have a more technical mindset and would like to learn more about Data Visualisation and Writing for the Internet. The series also covers diverse subjects such as Languages, Poetry, and Philosophy, offering a broad spectrum of courses to cater to various interests.

“Universities aren’t just about examinations and degrees”, highlights Nuala McGuinn, Director at the Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development. “Many of our adult learners commenced their studies by registering for a short course and then, over time, pursued their interest in a particular area by progressing to a part-time diploma or degree”. “There are no assessments or examinations at the end of the eight-week programme, courses are designed purely for personal interest and enjoyment”.

The short courses are delivered either online or in-person on the University campus. They are of interest to people from a variety of backgrounds and interests so whether you choose an online or in-person course, students are sure to meet interesting people to discuss their ideas with, find out more about their subject area and experience the world of lifelong learning.

Applications are made online only. Further details and closing dates for application are available at: www.universityofgalway.ie/shortcourses
