Galway woman enters battle to become IFA National Treasurer

Caherlistrane’s Rose Mary McDonagh has received a nomination to become the next Irish Farming Association (IFA ) National Treasurer.

McDonagh faces three contenders for the position; current IFA Monaghan chair, Patrick McCormack, current north Cork chair, Pat O’Keeffe and current poultry chair, Nigel Sweetnam. Having previously filled the role of Chairman of the IFA Farm Business Committee, McDonagh, will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role if successful in the race.

If chosen, McDonagh will replace the outgoing treasurer, Martin Stapleton at the upcoming 69th Annual General Meeting of the IFA at the Irish Farm Centre, Dublin on Tuesday, January 9.
