Fresh from playing the prestigious Other Voices music trail in Dingle, Dublin band BIG LOVE bring their alternative indie-rock sound to Monroe’s tomorrow, Friday, at 10pm.

An emerging talent, BIG LOVE’s debut single ‘Lily’ received widespread critical acclaim, and spent three weeks on the RTÉ recommends list.

The six-piece features Cian Ó Maonlaí on lead vocals, Megan Nic Ruairí on keys, bass player Dan Aherne, drummer Anton Shovlin and guitarists Adam Curtis and Jack Cody.

Moving from sweet, melodic rhythms that are both mysterious and slow, to driving, rapturous post-punk beats, the group deliver raw and honest stories through their songs.

In 2021, the band had a breakthrough year, featuring in the Windmill Lane live orchestral performance and the Christmas Busk in St Patrick’s Cathedral. The Dubliner crew has shared the stage with David Keenan and The Henry Girls.

They will be joined on the night by Galway alt-rock act Derek Ellard & The Future Business Model playing “folk rock with alternative frills” after releasing their single ‘Three Sheets To the Wind’ earlier this year.
