Sometimes the best tunes tumble from musicians’ minds late at night, and for two lads sitting at a piano after wandering Galway last month, that eureka moment arrived.

Fergal O’Hanlon and Adam O’Shea of The Púcas release their debut single ‘Christmas in Galway’ this week. The tune combines a traditional Irish air with a seasonal sound.

The harmonious voices of Galwegian O’Hanlon, and O’Shea, from Waterford, capture the festive essence of Christmas in Galway.

“We were inspired by the magic of Christmas in Galway, a city that truly embodies the spirit of the season,” says O’Hanlon. “We wanted to write a song that would capture the feeling of nostalgia, joy, and togetherness that we associate with Christmas in our hometown.”

O’Shea says the duet is crafted to resonate with anyone who has ever experienced the magic of Christmas in a small town.

‘Christmas in Galway’ is available for download on all major streaming platforms.
