It might seem like summer is far away, but with details already trickling out about next year’s Galway International Arts Festival, the sunshine music just got one step closer.
The first headline events at the iconic Big Top to be announced for next year’s Arts Festival are Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin Beats, and singer-songwriter Gavin James. Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 1.
Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin Beats is set for the Heineken Big Top on Saturday, July 20. This will be a performance of the world’s biggest dance anthems, with a hint of rock’n’roll too, featuring a DJ set with a full live band.
“The show is all about energy, nostalgia and fun,” says Today FM’s Pierce. “We want you to go back in time to experience these classic anthems with a full live band and special guests on vocals [for a] unique music and visual experience."
Gavin James will take to the Big Top stage at Fisheries Field on Friday, July 26.
This former Dublin busker and pub act has now sold more than 250,000 live show tickets after his first album Bitter Pill was championed by Ed Sheeran – a tiny proportion of his three billion live streams worldwide.
Last month James released ‘White Noise’, a single from his as-yet unveiled new album of original material being recorded in a studio on a mountain outside Dublin.
The full programme for Galway International Arts Festival 2024 will be announced in May.
Tickets on sale from www.giaf.ie and www.roisindubh.net from December 1, at 10am.
