Ocean Towers Apartments lead the way in sustainability

Ocean Towers Apartments lead the way in sustainability with EV charging in partnership with Ocean Property Management and Fort Energy.

Ocean Towers OMC and residents, supported by Ocean Property Management and Fort Energy, have led the way in supporting modern sustainable transport by installing a dual socket 22kW electric vehicle charging unit in their apartment complex.

This charging unit gives the complex the capability to provide 22kW of charge capacity to two vehicles simultaneously. However they did not stop there, the residents also had the foresight to add the electrical and civil infrastructure for two further dual socket chargers in future as the demand increases.

The residents were supported in the installation of their EV charging network by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI ) Apartment EV grant scheme. This scheme covers 80% of the costs of the civil and electrical infrastructure. The purpose of the grant scheme is to support residents and owners of apartments to install an EV charging capability and to provide them a convenient and accessible charging facility.

Ocean Towers Apartments were one of the first apartment complexes in Ireland to successfully avail of this SEAI Apartment EV grant scheme. This was done with the support of Ocean Property Management and Fort Energy. Ocean Property Management is a progressive, supportive and client first Property Management company in Galway. They have sustainability at the core and when Ocean Towers approached them looking for assistance with EV charging, they found an expert local partner in Fort Energy.

Fort Energy managed the scoping and design process with the residents to land at the right solution for them, both now and into the future, and at the right price point. Fort Energy also manged the successful grant application, ESB new connection, project budget and installation to deliver this successful project in partnership with Ocean Towers residents and Ocean Property Management, setting them up for a sustainable transport future.
