Supermac’s is hosting its annual charity fundraiser on November 17 at the LoughRea Hotel & Spa and this year, proceeds will be in aid of the Simon Community.

Supermac’s MD, Pat McDonagh, said both himself and Una are delighted to announce that this year, the Simon Community will be the beneficiary of the Supermac’s Gala Fundraiser Ball.

“The Simon Community has a proven track record throughout the country over many years of helping those in most need in our society. The number of people officially recorded as homeless in Ireland increased to 12,827 at the end of September, a fifth higher than the numbers homeless the same time last year, and 3,904 of these were children.

“These official figures don’t include people sleeping rough, staying in domestic violence refuges, or staying with friends and relatives when there is nowhere else to go. The annual Supermac’s Gala Fundraiser has raised a large amount of money for worthy charities and we would like to thank all those that have donated and supported the event over the years,” he said.

Wayne Stanley, Executive Director, Simon Communities of Ireland said that at Simon Communities of Ireland, they campaign tirelessly for practical and sustainable solutions to end homelessness for good.

“Through our eight local communities we deliver front line support and services across Ireland on a daily basis, supporting the most vulnerable individuals in our local communities, those who are homeless or who are at risk of homelessness.

“We simply wouldn’t be in a position to continue delivering this essential work without the support of donors such as Supermac’s, so on behalf of all of the team at Simon Communities of Ireland, I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Pat and Una, and all of the Supermac’s team, suppliers and supporters across Ireland who are supporting the Supermac’s Gala Fundraising Ball this year. We are incredibly honoured to have been chosen as the beneficiaries of this year’s event,” he said.

The event takes place at the LoughRea Hotel and Spa on Friday November 17 and tickets are available by calling the hotel at 091 880088 or email [email protected]
