Gael Seachtain and Coldvember are hot on the agenda in University of Galway this week

Hi all, and you're very welcome back to the weekly 'What's going on in the SU' column in your Galway Advertiser.

Following on from the tremendous success of last week's Hallows, our flagship Semester 1 event, during which we welcomed over 2,500 students to our student bar, Sult, and surrounding areas, we've had another Sult takeover this week, and that's Sult... Taylor's Version. Swifties descended in their droves to shake it off to Taylor Swift all night long, raising over a thousand euro for charity while doing it. 2 birds with the one stone!

Next week, we have our 3rd and final Class Rep Council, or Comhairle, of the semester, where class reps gather to discuss issues they are experiencing, and to hold their SU Officers accountable. We've also got Gael Seachtain going on, and our lovely Irish Language Officer, Faye, is flat out all week with all sorts of events as Gaeilge, such as 'Lá Gaeilge ag Coldvember,' 'An Lá ar fad Gaeilge 24,' 'Tóg Amach Mé i Sult,' 'Maidin Chaife i Sult,' to name but a few.

Make sure to keep an eye on our social media, @uniofgalwaysu, for the full rundown of what's going on. Special shoutout to the Coldvember gang for braving the elements every morning throughout the entire month, all to raise money for Galway Rape Crisis Centre, you guys are heroes. Thanks for reading, and as always, never hesitate to reach out, and have a great week ahead!
