With comparisons to Ed Sheeran abounding, Galway’s Brad Heidi is making waves on the Irish music scene, gaining recognition from none other than President Michael D Higgins.

Soon to release his latest track, ‘Dancing In My Head,’ the award-winning artist will play on home soil at Monroe’s Live on Saturday, October 21,, at 9pm.

Brad’s adventurous spirit has brought him busking across Ireland and Britain, honing his craft and developing a unique sound that is attracting a strong fan base.

The singer-songwriter has progressed from busking on the city streets to headlining his solo Irish tour and becoming the overall winner of the ‘A New Local Hero’ award.

Guitar in hand, he was listed by TikTok as the most-followed Irish artist in 2022. His self-released EP qualified for the official Irish charts, and he is tipped by Hotpress as one to watch.

In April, Brad was recognised by President Michael D Higgins as “a brilliant singer, songwriter and performer, who has shown a remarkable single-mindedness and dedication, in his drive to establish himself as an artist.”

President Higgins commended Brad as he scooped the top award as ‘A New Local Hero’ at an event in Dublin.

As part of his prize, Brad, who was representing Galway Bay FM, has the opportunity to record at the prestigious Camden Recording Studios and release the track with record label Rubyworks.

"At just 22 years of age, Brad Heidi is one of those very special talents,” said President Higgins at the awards. “His potential is enormous – in what promises to be a wonderfully creative, fulfilling and productive, long-term career.”
