Two emerging Irish acts take to the stage at Monroe’s Live tomorrow, Friday, October 13, for a night of original music at the award-winning venue.

Alternative indie band Baby Lemonade will storm through their set list of ‘90s infused songs, full of haunting melodies and uplifting anthems.

Fronted by singer-songwriter Saoirse Moncrieff, the quartet includes Mickey Chaos on lead guitar and vocals, Shae Walsh on drums and Eva on bass.

Drawing inspiration from Joni Mitchell, Mazzy Star and Bob Dylan, Baby Lemonade’s Saoirse Moncrieff is making waves on the folk pop scene.

The daughter of popular broadcaster Seán Moncrieff, Saoirse has been stepping out as a beguiling songstress, weaving her story through her lyrics to create evocative and romantic music.

With tunes such as ‘One More Glass of Wine’ and ‘Love Song,’ she exudes her vulnerability through her work.

Like many artists, Saoirse was inspired to create music as a way to make sense of heartbreak. With over 17 thousand dedicated YouTube followers, it has become her safe space to share her work, raw and unfiltered.

In a similar vein, Mickey Chaos is a rising solo singer-songwriter who will deliver his showcase as support on the night.

The self-described “rock star from Las Vegas” has the drawl of Lou Reed and the soul of Elvis Presley. Born in Wexford, the 24-year-old has returned to his Irish roots after 15 years in the Mojave Desert, crafting songs with a strong punk and indie rock vibe.

“I croon loungey love songs with a touch of surf punk psychedelia,” he says in advance of his upcoming gig at the Dominick Street venue.

Tickets for Baby Lemonade with support from Mickey Chaos, October 13, at 7.30pm cost €8 from www.monroes.ie
