Galway's Father Griffin's Ladies Football Club has been selected to participate in the 2023/24 Club2Gether Programme which aims to strengthen club structures.
Nine clubs have been chosen for the iniatitive which focuses on developing volunteer recruitment and retention, governance and officer training, sponsorship and fundraising, and games development. All four provinces are represented by 17 counties, with Ballinamore Sean O'Heslins, Achill and Fr Griffins chosen from Connacht.

Former Connacht and Galwegians administrator Ronnie Long passed away recently.
Treasurer of Galwegians in 1965 and assistant treasurer of the Connacht IRFU in 1967, Ronnie became a well-known figure in athletics. A life long member and former president of Athletics Ireland, Ronnie had a life long passion for athletics. He was manager of the athletics team at the 1976 Olympics and also president of Bord Lúthchleas Eireann in 1994 (the forerunner of Athletics Ireland ). He was also involved in the hosting of the Nissan Cycling event in Limerick from 1983 to 1992 and was a member of the organising committee that brought the World Cross Country Champions to Limerick in 1979 when John Tracey defended the title he won the year previously in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow. Ronnie received a national award for Voluntary Lifetime Service to Irish Sport in 2012.
