Pat and Una McDonagh received the Outstanding Contribution to Sponsorship Award as the 2023 Irish Sponsorship Awards that were held in Dublin last Thursday.

The couple were selected for the prestigious award due to their continuous commitment for over 40 years to sponsorship and their support for many community groups, athletes, sports teams, concerts, schools, festivals and artists all over the country.

The relationship between Supermac’s and Galway GAA is one of the longest running sponsorship partnerships in Irish sport, with Supermac’s having sponsored Galway hurling since 1990.

Pat and Una were joined on the night by Galway senior football and hurling captains, Sean Kelly and Conor Whelan and county board treasurer, Michael Burke.

Pat and Una are heavily involved with charities including Trocaire, Fr Peter McVerry Trust, Sightsavers and the NCBRI, of which Una is a patron, as well as thousands of local charities throughout Ireland.
