Citylink’s new 721 route linking Castlebar and Dublin airport and serving Tuam will commence on September 25. The new route is a welcome addition to an already successful and established privately owned transport service and forms part of its strategic expansion programme for 2023/24.
This route is the first in 20 years to give passengers an affordable service from Mayo to Dublin Airport, with stops originating in Castlebar and servicing Claremorris, Tuam, Athlone (TUS ), Dublin City and Airport. The new route is accessible seven days a week with six return journeys per day.
Jack Chambers, Junior Minister, Dept of Transport said he was delighted to attend the launch of CityLink’s new route connecting Castlebar to Dublin City and Dublin Airport.
“Improving public transport links between the West of the country and Dublin is something I am very keen to see progressed as Minister. This year my department is investing €1.9 billion in green, cleaner travel options such as public transport, walking and cycling infrastructure as well as carbon reduction programmes to help support a shift away from car use where possible.
“This new service from CityLink will provide improved connectivity seven days a week and will be of enormous benefit to so many people.
To celebrate route 721, Castlebar-Dublin Airport opening for service on Sept 25, they have a special introductory offer of €5 each way. The offer is only available online at www.citylink.ie and pre-booking is open now until Sept 25, with travel up to and including Dec 31st.

Citylink continues to build on its success with it being the only transport provider offering a service every half hour between Dublin City and Galway, with a designated passenger waiting room at Crampton Quay, Dublin City equipped with charging ports, free WiFi as well as passenger assistants onsite to look after the passengers. The company has expanded its network of routes over the years and now operates high frequency express services linking Ireland’s major cities, towns and airports.
