Connemara abstracted for Clifden Arts Fest

Abstract artist Joan Finnegan is exhibiting a new collection of landscape paintings at this week’s Clifden Arts Festival.

Particularly inspired by the contours and colours of Connemara, the paintings of AS I SEE IT are characterised by bold shapes and vibrant colours, transporting viewers to an imaginative realm of abstraction.

Finnegan’s work has been selected for this year’s Royal Ulster Academy exhibition in Belfast opening in October, and she was awarded an Arts Council Agility Award earlier this year.

This latest collection includes simplified landscape elements and bold colours which imbue her art with mystique and ambiguity, inviting viewers to explore and engage with her visual stories.

The ATU Fine Art graduate’s collection is displayed at The Corner Gallery, in Clifden.

AS I SEE IT will be launched by Galway Bay FM’s Gary McMahon, Thursday, September 14 at 6pm, and runs until Sunday, 24 September.
