A rare 1967 Ferrari 412P Berlinetta has become the fourth most valuable Ferrari sold at auction, when it recently sold for $30.25 million (around €32.78m ).
The 56-years-old car was sold on August 18 by Bonhams at its auction in California, USA, and surpasses the previous record held by the classic car auctioneers for a 1954 Mercedes-Benz W198, which sold for $29.6 million in 2013.
It is noted for being just one of two 412Ps constructed, and was subject of a nine-years restoration, which not only revitalised the car to its original glory, but also rendered it fit for public roads.
Its current finish also honours the rich racing history that began with Colonel Ronnie Hoare and his British Ferrari agency, Maranello Concessionaires Ltd, and extended to competing in the FIA World Championship of Makes, racing at the Le Mans 24-Hours, Belgian Spa 1,000 Kilometres, and in its home country at the BOAC 500 at Brands Hatch.
