RTE Folk Music Awards nominee Padraig Jack is coming to The Crane Bar on Friday September 1

A native of the Aran islands which has produced writers Liam O Flaithearta, Máirtín Ó Direáin and Breandán Ó hEithir, Padraig is proudly bilingual both as a conversationalist and a songwriter. Padraig’s song about the islands ‘Making Sand’ was nominated for Best Original Song at the 2022 RTE Folk Music Awards and it was Number 1 in the Radio 1 Airplay chart for four weeks in summer 2022.

Kicking off 2023 with tours of Wales, The Basque country and the UK (with Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff ), Padraig spent the summer playing a residency in Joe Wattys Marquee in Aran as well as playing the Doolin and Galway Folk Festivals.

Padraig is currently recording his second album with renowned producer John Reynolds (Sinead O Connor, Damien Dempsey ) which is due for release in Spring 2024. Both singles released in 2023 thus far, ‘It Could Be Home’ and ‘What Is Love’, have been playlisted on RTE Radio 1.

Padraig Jack will play in The Crane Bar on Friday September 1 at 8.30pm.
