Reddington welcomes cutting of corners

Cllr Andrew Reddington has welcomed the funding of road safety projects to the tune of €195,000 in the Headford Caherlistrane Kilconly area, which was granted last week.

He said that he worked with landowners and residents to apply for the funding to improve the safety of the local road network and thankfully works will commence over the next few months.

“I want to give my sincere thanks to the landowners and the local residents who worked on the applications with me.The works which will take place are Caherlistrane (section of footpath across from Caherlistrane church and removal of ditch on this road ) €45,000, Removal of dangerous corner at Kilshanvey/Kilconly €17000; Improving sightlines at Ballynalacka Headford €10,000;Improving sightlines at Luimnagh €30,000; Removal of corners at Knockereen Kilconna €40,000; Removal of a corner at Kilamonagh Caherlistrane €15,000; Improving sight-lines at Culleen Headford €35,000; Improving sight-lines at Carnacrow Headford €5,000;

Cllr Reddington said that the new community involvement scheme applications are due to open up again in September and he is urging community’s who have projects in mind to contact him, he stressed that any new projects will not commence unless the landowners are fully committed to the schemes.
