Galway soprano Clare Quinn has been named as the recipient of the National Concert Hall Bernadette Greevey Bursary.
The prize of €5,000 and a concert recital in the Kevin Barry Recital Room has been awarded to Ms Quinn for her stunning performance which included Mahler’s Ich atmet’ einen linden Duft and Philip Martin Bruch’s Lake Isle of Innisfree.
Her winning performance was adjudicated by Irish soprano Mairéad Buicke of TU Dublin Conservatoire and Executive Director of Irish National Opera Diego Fasciati.
Renmore-born and raised, Clare is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In July 2022 she graduated with a First Class honours degree in vocal studies from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Clare’s career highlights to date include performing in Carnegie Hall, New York and for the President in Áras an Uachtaráin and taking part in BBC Cardiff singer of the World Fringe events including masterclasses with Simon Lepper and Ilker Arcayurek.?
Clare joins a stellar cast of previous winners of the NCH Bernadette Greevy Bursary Award, which includes Kelli-Ann Masterson, Sarah Richmond, Susie Gibbons, Jennifer Davis and Gavan Ring.
