The Oranmore-Maree Twinning Association will host a special soirée A Taste of France in local French restaurant, Armorica, Tuesday, July 11 at 7pm. An open invitation is extended to all for a delightful evening.
The association is inviting everyone to share in this special cultural evening, which will also be a fundraiser to grow and expand its cultural exchanges and events for the Oranmore Maree community with Clohars-Fouesnant, its twinned community in Brittany, France.
The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the association's chosen charity, Self-Help Africa, supporting a much needed water project in a French-speaking village in Togo, West Africa.
Oranmore Maree is twinned with Clohars-Fouesnant in Brittany, and the two communities have built up great friendships between local families in both regions over a 10 year period. The association aims to expand an awareness of the benefits of this unique cultural connection so more people, including young families, in the community can benefit from the twinning. Information on how to participate will be available on the evening.
Those attending A Taste of France will be met with a welcome drink, and will savour delicious cheese and meat sharing platters, coupled with selected paired wines, presented by wine connoisseur Zeeshan of Wild Wines.
A speaker from Self-Help Africa will talk about the project the community is supporting in Togo.
Tickets for the event cost €20 and are available via Eventbrite under ‘Oranmore Twinning’.
